Inspired by my father, Dr. John Spencer, a community leader and conservation pioneer, I've been motivated to contribute to our community's growth and well-being.
I've been married to my wife, Kathy, for 42 years—she's the only girl I've ever dated. Together, we've raised four children and now enjoy the company of nine grandchildren. My family has always been my motivation and the "why" behind my work. I love to golf, boat, hike, ski, and revel in the beauty of northern Michigan. As a Detroit Lions fan, I enjoy watching sports at all levels and have volunteered as a coach and mentor in public schools, and have been active in our local church. Additionally, I've served on boards for local sports facility projects like Thirlby Field and the TC Central tennis facility, contributing to the community's development.
